INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION ON 21.06.15
As we observed June 21st International Yoga Day, the NSS unit of Saraswathy College of Nursing (MN069A59) have Celebrated International yoga day on 21st June 2015. The programme started at 8am. The Inauguration was done by Dr. Bindhu Ajayakumar, after the inauguration NSS Volunteers participated in the programme under the supervision of yogacharyan Janab Muhammed Ismayil and Smt.V Sobana Sivanandhan, Santhi Yoga Centre, Plammoottukkada.
MONSOON HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME
The NSS unit of the Saraswathy College of Nursing (No. MNO69A-59) organized a monsoon health awareness programme in collaboration with the Public Health Centre (PHC), Pozhiyoor from15.06.2015 to 19.06.2015.
The Programme was inaugurated by Sri. K. Sudarsanan, Additional Secretary, Department of Health, Govt of Kerala at a function organized at Christ the King auditorium, Pozhiyoor, at 9.00am on 15.06.2015. Sri Pozhiyoor Johnson, President, Pozhiyoor grama panchayath presided over the meeting. Dr.Bibin K. Gopal NCD, Dept. of Health was the Chief Guest. Dr. S. K. Ajaiya Kumar, Addl. Professor of Surgery, Govt.Medical College, TVM (On Leave) welcomes the gathering. Dr. A. Jain, Medical Officer, PHC, Pozhiyoor, Sri. Sasi, Mass Media Officer, Department of Health and Sri. V. K. Pushpasanan Nair, Chairman, Standing Committee on Health, Grama panchayath, Pozhiyoor addressed the gathering and Sri. Ayira Sasi proposed the vote of thanks.
After the inauguration, NSS Volunteers were divided in to 6 groups and they visited the houses in five wards of the Pozhiyoor panchayath and gave health education on prevention of communicable diseases like dengue fever, rat fever, malaria, filaria etc from 15.06.15 to 19.06.15(9 am – 1 pm) under the guidance and supervision of asha workers & health inspectors attached to the PHC, Pozhiyoor.
On 30th may, the NSS unit of Saraswathy College of Nursing, NO MNO69A-59 has conducted a rally and street play on Poovar Panchayath. Programme was started at 9:30 AM. Dr. S K Ajaiyakumar, Chief Surgeon, Saraswathy Hospital recited the pledge to the NSS volunteers, followed by the message was given by Dr. Sunitha, Medical Officer, CHC Poovar and Flag off was done by Mr. Sunil, CI Poovar. The rally was started from CHC Poovar to bus stand. After the rally NSS volunteers conducted a street play regarding health risk associated with tobacco use. Programme winded up at 11AM.
On October month, the NSS Unit of Saraswathy College of Nursing No MNO 69A-59 have conducted 2 days camp on 30.09.2014 & 01.10.2014 in Janardhanapuram school, on 15.10.2014 we haveConducted a health awareness programme in LP School & Anganwadi in Karode Panchayat. On 06.10.2014-10.10.2014 & 20.10.2014 to 30.10.2014 the students cleaned our college campus from 3 – 4.45 pm.
On November month,the NSS unit of Saraswathy College of Nursing
N0:MNO69A-59 have conducted two days Diabetic day programme on 13.11.2014
& 14.11.2014 at Saraswathy Hospital.We have given the awareness by Diabetic walk with a float.
On Pulse-Polio campaign 15 volunteers wereparticipated on 18th November.
On 19.11.2014 we have conducted a seminar on National Integration Day byMrs.Krishna Veni.
On 22.11.2014 We conducted a health awareness programme on healthy lifestyle, safe and supportive environment, stable communities in our adopted village.
On 23.11.2014 We have conducted cultural programmes in our college
On January Month, the NSS Unit of Saraswathy College of NursingNo: MN069A-59 have conducted a Seminar on role of youth in community development on youth day.
On 20th January Our NSS volunteers took part in“RUN KERALA RUN”.
As a part of Pulse Polio Campaign ,we the NSS unit of Saraswathy College ofNursing No MN069A-59(46 Students) have participated in Pulse Polio Programme .For that programme on 19.02.15 Mrs.Sreekala (JPHN) & Mr.Simon(HI) in CHCHospital Poovar had taken classes regarding Pulse Polio Programme,Vaccine vialMonitor, uses of pulse polio etc. On 22.02.15, 46 volunteers were divided undergroup in parrassuvaikal PHC &CHC Poovar under 17 booth under the guidance ofMrs.Liza .L ,Programme Officer. 1100 children were benefited .
