Seminar on Overseas Job Opportunities for Nursing Professionals
The seminar on Overseas Job opportunities for Nursing Professionals started on 27.05.2015 at Saraswathy College of Nursing, Parassala with the welcome speech by Sri. Ayira Sasi, Laison Officer.
The presidential address was made by Dr. S K Ajaiyakumar, Chief Consultant Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeon, Saraswathy Hospital, Parassala. He appreciated the students for their neat behavior and congratulated the toppers in university exam and winners on nurse’s day celebrations.
The inaugural address of open forum was done by Sri. P A Muhammad, MD, BADAR- AL-SAMAA Group of Hospitals & polyclinics. During the interaction with Nursing students, Sri. P A Muhammad point out that there are so many job opportunities for the qualified and experienced nurses in overseas. He also assured job offer to our students, in BADAR-AL-SAMAA Group of Hospitals, Sultanate of Oman, who had minimum 2 years experience.
Sri. N Shylakumar, Rtd. Deputy Chief, Employment and Guidance Bureau, Kerala University, delivered a talk on Overseas Opportunities for Nursing Professionals.
Prof. Haseena, on her talk, advices the students how to impress the communication skills and its need in Nursing profession.
Prof.C.V.Kavitha, Principal S.C.N delivered the vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to all the participants.

PRE- MONSOON CLEANING PROGRAMME AT POZHIYOOR
A very successful programme jointly organized by Kulathoor grama panchayat & saraswathy college of nursing involving six costal wards of the panchayat. The programme was inaugurated by Sri. R. Selvaraj Hon. MLA of Neyyattinkara on 26/05/2014. The two prominent churches in the area namely St. Mathews church, Kollemcode & St.Mary Magdaleen Church Parithiyoor actively participated in this. Our students along with the local Health actives & Health workers formed six groups. One group working in each ward. The programme included cleaning of household premises demonstration of safe waste disposal & health education regarding environmental sanitation, prevention of infectious diseases etc. The programme lasted for three days. It was the last day the local people with the leadership of two priest from the churches conducted a meeting to congratulate the youth budding stars. This was conducted in the St. Mathews School Pozhiyoor. The local leaders & the health officers & the priest where given special memento. We are happy that so far in the monsoon no episodes has broken out.
